Okay, I lied...I didn't get finished with Alyssa's prayer picture thing this past weekend! Those darn letters are taking longer than I though. Maybe THIS weekend! I've been getting sidetracked lately. I haven't been in a stitching mood. I DID get my "Rain Forest Afghan" pattern in the mail this week, though! I'm REALLY looking forward to doing that one!
Other than that, I'm just waiting on the hurricane to come blow me away. I deserve it...I said I wanted Hurricane Rebekah to come obliterate Texas in 2007 and I guess thye just got the "R" hurricanes mixed up...however, I didn't want Texas to be wiped out while I was still HERE----it was supposed to wait until I got OUT!! Oh well!
I'm trying to get ready for Alyssa's birthday party now. She wants a princess party, so that's what she's getting. We'll be having it at the Clubhouse for Kids up the road, so I won't have to worry about getting a cake or plates or drinks or anything like that, so that'll be good. All I have to worry about is her gifts and goodie bags for the kids. I'm also making crowns for them. I found some that look girly for the "princesses" and some different ones for the "princes". I think we'll have a pretty good time, and that's what matters!

Great Movie!
I can't speak for everyone, but I LOVED "A Lot Like Love" with Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet. Ashton is a doll, even if he can't sing!
As far as my stitching is concerned, I've been working my butt off on a million different things. This week, it's the "Hummingbird Trellis" afghan. This weekend, I'll be finishing up Alyssa's prayer picture, then, next week, I'll be going back to the "Mother Tree". I don't think it'll take me too much longer to finish that one. Then I have two birth announcments to do for some friends of my grandma and grandpa.
I'm still collecting awesome patterns and fabrics! I finally finished my DMC collection, except for the varigated, so I'm moving on to collecting fabrics!

Another Day, Another......
....Nap! Actually, I NEVER get naps....would be nice, but doesn't happen! I haven't done much of anything in a while OTHER than stitch. I have nothing else to do! I have no life....I have no other hobbies....I have PLENTY of other interests, but no outlet for them, but that's another topic altogether!
I finished the name part of "Mother Tree" today, so I put it aside for awhile. I started on the little prayer thingy I got for Alyssa. I'm just SO sick of working on cross stitch (*ducks, so as not to get hit*). I have a Harry Potter book to read, but I never have enough time to really get into a book. As soon as things start getting interesting in the book, Alyssa starts hollering, "I hung-y, Mommy". My work is never done! I SO wish she had a grandma I could send her to for a day or two.

Still Going....
I've been stitching off and on for a few days now, although, I must admit that I'm getting a little burned out! I'm up to my great-grandma's name on "Mother Tree" and I haven't worked on "Hummingbird Trellis" in several days now.
My friend, Jessica, and I went to Hobby Lobby a few days ago, while she was still in town, and bought a few things. I bought a kit with a bedtime prayer on it. It's the same one I'm teaching Alyssa to say before bed every night, so I HAD to have it. Jessica also bought a Sue Hillis chart that says, "I love you more today than yesterday. Yesterday you really got on my nerves". She's going to stitch it for her boyfriend, Rob, and then I'm going to borrow it and stitch it for Greg. We just thought it was cute!
At any rate, I'm hoping to get a little more done on "Mother Tree" tomorrow, and then I'll do some catching up on the afghan before the new magazine comes out. Then, I should be able to start on the bedtime prayer one before too long!

I Just Stole This.....LOL!
Gotta love Loretta! I steal the CUTEST things from her blog!!
Let's talk about looooove.
1) Are you currently married or involved with a significant other? Givespecifics and length of time that you have been with that person.
We've been together since November, 2000 and we got married in 2002, shortly after the EPT proposed for us!!
2) Where did you meet your significant other? In a bar. I, literally, ran from him for an hour, because I thought he was a freak! I will NEVER doubt my first impressions EVER again!! LOL!
3) What is your anniversary or special day of ANY kind and what did youdo on that day with your significant other? Well, our wedding anniversary is April 13, but November 25 is also special, cause that's when we met and we haven't dated anyone else since then.
4) What is the nicest thing that a person that you are or have been involved with has done for you? That's a tough one, cause every guy I ever dated or cared about did special things, and my husband does special things for me all the time. Little things, like going all the way back to the store when he realizes he forgot something that I asked him to pick up, and big things, like paying all the bills all by himself, so that I can stay at home and be with our daughter and not miss ANY part of her "babyhood".
5) Do you have a special song or movie or place with your significantother? Describe. Not really. I mean, the bar where we met was pretty special, but it's closed down now. Our first house together was special, but it's in Mississippi, and we're not.

A Little Info....
I "stole" this from my friend, Loretta's blog and thought it was kinda cool!
1) What is your birthday, what time were you born, what astrological sign are you, and what city and state were you born in? I was born on May 6, 1979, at 12:04 PM....which makes me a Taurus. I was born in Jackson, Mississippi.
2) Are there any famous events or famous people that share your specialday? Several, although the only ones I can remember off the top of my head are George Clooney and Bob Segar
3) What did you do to celebrate your last birthday? Not shit...my child busted her lip, so I spent the whole day playing "nurse".
4) What is your best birthday celebration that you can remember? Well, all my birthdays when I was a kid were great, cause I got lots of presents! My best birthday as an adult was my 22nd, cause I had NO kids and my wonderful friends threw me a surprise party!
5) What is the best birthday present you have ever received? Um....I honestly don't remember. The only gifts I can remember were the ones I got THIS year, because it was only a week ago!!

Geez...it's been FOREVER!!
I was just inspired by my friend, Stacey, to update my blog a little. I haven't done it in a LONG time!! Anyway, I got finished with "Railroad Treasures" last night. That's the one I was working on for my grandpa. Got the finishing backstitches put in right before bed. So, now I'm picking my quilt squares back up. I also still have the "Hummingbird Trellis" in rotation. I finally got the third block done and now I'm working on number 4. The new magazine just came out, so I have blocks 5-8 to work on too! I'm SO far behind! I don't think I'll EVER catch up with this!

Damn a Frog!!
Okay, so I spent hours stitching blocks on my "Hummingbird Trellis" afghan, and spent hours ripping the bastard out! Turns out, the way I was stitching it, the afghan blocks are 95x95 stitches and the patterns are 97x97, so I had to rip out EVERYTHING!! Oh well, the good news is, I have until December, 2006, since that's how long this series is going to last! Surely I can find time in the next 2 years to fix this mess!
I also got started on my grandfather's Christmas present. It's called "Railroad Treasures". He's a big collector of railroad memoribilia, so I think he'll really like it!
I ALSO finally got started on the UFO project for this round of the RR. It's a Paula Vaughan design on linen. It's really pretty and linen doesn't seem to be as difficult to work with as I originally thought.
Anyway, that's about it for my stitching news. The only other "news" in my life is that Cosmo says that the "in" thing for this spring/summer is straight eyebrows, so I'm having to let my arches come back in so I can repluck them straight! Oh, the things I go through to be beautiful and stylish!! LOLOLOL!! I can't wait cause I'm beginning to feel a little like Groucho Marx.

Almost Done...
Okay, stitching news first.....I'm almost done with "Sleepy Friends" for my friend, Jennifer's baby. All I lack is the backstitching and personalization....but I obviously can't personalize it until the baby is actually born....so all I lack for now is the backstitching, which I'm almost done with! Then I can get started on some other stuff. I've got to make the quilt squares for Love Quilts, I've got to do this round of the RR, I've got something I'm doing for my grandpa and my grandma's afghan came in the mail today so I'm wanting to get the first 3 squares of it done so I don't get too far behind since the next issue of the magazine comes out in March!
Nothing else is really happening at the moment! I've got to go sometime this week and get my Texas driver's license, since it looks like I'm going to be here for awhile....and I've got to go get my eyes checked so I can get new contacts before these rot out of my eyes! LOL!! Then I've also got to go get my hair cut....and maybe rehighlighted. I've got about a million things I need to do....question is, how much of it will I actually do??

Been Awhile
Actually, it seems like it's been forever! I've bought a few more things off ebay and done some more work on my "Sleepy Friends" for my friend's baby. I've actually done a good bit of work on it the last few days because I haven't felt like doing much else. I've felt like crap....again....like THAT'S anything new!
Looks like we're FINALLY gonna get rid of our houseguest. He's moving out this weekend....can you feel my excitement??!!??!!??!! He's SO totally getting on my nerves! I can't wait to have him gone!
I've been brainstorming on my state quilt project and can't wait to get it underway. I've got a book that I bought off ebay that should be getting here in a few days and as soon as I get that, I'm gonna really buckle down and start my designs. I'm gonna start with the states that I already have someone to stitch. Actually I'll probably start with Texas so I can go ahead and do it and get an idea of what the thing's gonna look like. I think it'll be great once I get it all together!

Can't Think of Anything To Call This One
The worst part about one of these blogs is trying to come up with a title for it....crazy, I know. Anyway, I finished Patrick's birth sampler and now I'm starting on the one for my friend Jennifer's baby who is due in March. She doesn't have a decided name yet...well, her first name will be Riley, but they haven't decided on a middle name yet....oh well, it doesn't matter yet anyway!
We got our assignments for the charity quilt and I've bought all my supplies that I need, which wasn't all that much...just had to get the fabric and a couple of colors that I didn't have. I'll be starting on that in the next day or two.
That's about all I've got on the stitching front....other than that my life has been dull....I stay pretty pissed off all the time since we still have our "roommate" living here. I was hoping that being a total bitch would run him off, but he's a toughie! But if he's NOT gone by Feb 1, I will make his life SOOOO miserable!

New Ideas
I had what I refer to as a "brain fart" today....I'm going to take ALL of my stitching that I do in 2005 and make an actual paper journal as I complete each piece. That way, it'll all be on paper and I can keep up with everything. Silly, maybe, but I think it'll be fun!
I didn't do a whole lot of stitching today. I went to the mall for a little while and to Wal-Mart later....never said my life was fun, but it's all I have! Alyssa didn't get crap for a nap today so she'll be asleep in a few minutes, which will be good! Hopefully I'll get more stitching done tomorrow....that's my goal anyway!

Welcome to 2005!!
It's been a relatively quiet year so far, thankfully! Now if the next 354 days could be as peaceful this would be "my" year...but what are the odds??
I got my husband's tiger finished at approximately 11:47 last night, so I made my 2004 deadline. Now I've started on the baby sampler for my friend Christy's new baby boy, Patrick, who was born December 30.
I have an insanely large list of things to work on this year....I have another baby sampler to do after Patrick's, then I have RR things to do, and a charity quilt to help with, and I'm starting on Christmas gifts for this year....I want to make something for everyone. Luckily I have a very small family!
But I'm going to pace myself and get as much as I can done! I'll keep everyone updated!!
